The Surprising Link Between Boredom, Comparison, and Screen Time – My Revelation

Had a couple of days away with my Mrs over in Northern Ireland this week

Yesterday on our way home she used my phone after her phone had died

She noticed something weird about my phone and asked me why don’t have Instagram or Facebook on there

It’s pretty simple for me…

And hopefully an eye opener for you too

See, Wednesday night I had a shite sleep in the hotel

So yesterday I was tired.. no problem

But I also knew that we’d have a bit of waiting time at the airport and the flight etc

So I knew that I’d maybe be a little bored too

And that combination for me? Not that good

See, I’ve noticed that when I’m tired AND bored

My screen time goes right up

I scroll, or ‘doom scroll’ as it seems to be called now

Essentially we kinda just sit on our ass and watch what other people are up to

And for me?

You can feel like life is passing you by

Like you're somehow 'behind'

That you can't keep up with everyone else

That everyone is doing better than you

You'll never be good enough

That you're missing something

Man - it sucks.

The solution? STOP 'spectating'

Put your fucking phone down.

Get to work on something worthy

Something that fires you up
